81 Bay Brewing Tampa

You know how every once in a while you stumble upon a place that you just really appreciate? That happened to me in Tampa when I found 81 Bay Brewing. From the outside this seems like just another large faced building but as soon as you walk through the door that changes entirely.

Aquatically themed and absolutely huge, this place has all the good stuff inside. With corn hole, darts, a stage for live music,and even a video games that project onto a giant wall to play there is plenty to do. Most important is their tap selection. They brew the beer of the Tampa Bay lightning, The Lightning Lager, so you have to give that a shot if you’re a sports fan but other than that they had a beef for just about anyone.

Just a few options

With a great IPA selection, some lager, pilsners ,marzens, sours, and all the other goodies this is a great brewery to bring your beer loving friends. Then there was my food loving selection of beers…

Turtle flavored beer, no not like the animal but turtle like chocolate with caramel and pecan flavors just delighting your taste buds. A coffee stout is hard to beat especially for a stour lover like myself, the same goes for the Oktoberfest. One very Floridian thing they did have available here was the key lime sour. Now I was not sure what to expect on this one because while there are definitely dessert flavored beers out there, too many of them hit the overly sweet mark so I was wondering how this was going to fare and it did well. Being a sour the lime allowed for that sweet tart flavor which was just the right amount for the beer so this one ended up being really tough to put down because you just want more and more!

Plenty of beers to go around but I am not going to sit here and write about every brew I tasted, though I will say I enjoyed each one that I tried. Definitely a place to bring your beer lover!
