Taglish Brings on the Filipino Flavors

So this is a. tricky one because it is inside the Lotte Market just off Colonial but once you’re inside the food court area is to the right and there you will find it. This regular looking establishment pushes out some big flavors with their Filipino cuisine. All sorts of noodles, lumpia, rice dishes, lumpia, seafood, vegetarian dishes, oh and lumpia. Clearly I have a favorite, or should I say had. The twice cooked adobo pork belly with the mung bean stew stole my heart faster than you can say Manilla. This salty yet juicy pork belly is cooked twice so you get flavor and a bit of crisp to it. Mung bean stew has possibly become one of my favorite sides now since having it, I found it was very similar to the mujadera that my grandmother used to make me growing up. Thick stewy lentil-esque beans gorgeously flavored and topped and bed of rice with some pickled veggies in the mix on the side really tie this dish together. Totally got lumpia too because Filipino lumpia is pretty awesome so try it. Many more dishes to try here so I can not wait to go back and the best part of all this is that it is in an Asian supermarket so you can get a bunch of cool shopping done there for some different flavors but maybe that one deserves its own blog.
