American Social Orlando
Relatively new to the Orlando scene but no stranger to neighboring Tampa the all new American Social location in Orlando houses itself in the old Bar Louie building in Dr Phillips. This has brought a new kind of social aspect to that area with a more modern vibe to it and a great variety of cocktails The drinks are really the absolute high point of this place because their cocktail variety is fantastic and all the drinks are actually just really good. The cocktails are a mix of strength and flavor my personal favorite being the smoked old fashioned. This drink blends well the whiskey, the bitters, and some fired wood chips adding a great natural smoked flavor to the drink that is tasteful but not overpowering.
Avocado Toast
Appetizers come first and some of these items cross heavily with their brunch options like the avocado toast pictured above. These range from things like the toast to hummus and fried chick peas so if you are looking for something casual to munch on at the bar they have you covered but if you are also looking for something with a little more heft to it the options are there. There are no bad choices when it comes to apps as most of them are not too complex so they satisfy all who have a go at them. Now the entree menu gets a little more complicated since there are so many options in such a large range. So in that spirit I kept it simple and popular with the times I had to get the Nashville hot chicken sandwich.
That thing is properly represented in terms of how big it looks, it is a very large sandwich. Large sandwich has large flavor it is full fledged hot chicken, the tomato and slaw are a little bit of an addition but the basics of well battered hot chicken, pickles, and sauce are all there. This behemoth is served with fries and I couldn’t finish them so that should speak volumes. Other items some folks ordered were the bbq platter, the burger, and some crab cakes. Everything made in house the food is solid. Still my favorite part is the drinks this establishment offers a great happy hour and their drinks, their outside bar near the fire pits and comfortable seating make this an ideal night out destination.
